VITAL STATISTICS.
(Br Telegraph.) Wellington, July- 13. The following aro the vital statistics for the Boroughs named, for the month of June, 1883:—
The deaths of persons not residents of the Boroughs occurring .at hospitals have bnen excluded m all cases. The total hirths m the ahove Boroughs amounted to 499, against 462 m May, an increase of 37. The deaths m June were 178, an increase of 17 on the number for May. ' Of the above deaths, males contributed 99 and females 74. 69 of the deaths were thoie of children under 5 years of age, being 30.89 per cent of the whole nntnbor. 45 of these were of children under one year of age.
