(Per Electric Telegraph — Copybioht.J [Reuter's Agency. J [E^oeived 1.15 p.m., Anfjusfc 6th-l Melbourne, Aug. 6. Hanlnn and Kavanagh have admitted that they were placed on board the Pathan by London detectives. Smith is bound for Sydney, but denies his identity with the informers. His manner yesterday was most violent. The relations between the captain and officers of the Pathan and the police have improved. The Pathan sails to-day for Sydney. Communications are passing between Mr Service and Mr Stuart (Premier of New South Wales) with a view of co-operation m a settlement of the difficulty. [Reoeived 2 p.m., August 6th.} The latest information regarding the notorious informers, is that Kavanagh and Hanlon have Bigued an agreement consenting to their friendly deportation beyond the Australian colonies. [Received 10 p.m., Aug. 6th.] The two informers, Kavanagh and Hanlon have each written a letter declaring that, m consequence of the public feeling which has been manifested m Melbourne against witnesses m the Phoenix Park trial, they have no desire to laud m the colony, and solicit that they may be quietly eeut to Calcutta or England. They state that they were shipped through the instrumentality of Detective Simons, of the London Police Force, and tbat their passages were engaged by him. According to the most authentic information, the Government intends to re-ship the informers to England. The following horses have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup : — Ad Valorem, Buttercup, County Squire, Duchess of Albany, Jack of Clubs, Joan, Mentmore, M«rman, Morceaux, Tho Bean, Too Too, and The Plunger.
