No chango has taken place m connection with the wrecks of the George Boper and Black Boy, and the excitement m the locality has not abated m the least. Attempts are still being made to recover cargo. The Premier has received an intimation from the Agent-General, stating that the Undcr-Sfcrttary for the Colonies assure* him he knows nothing of any proposal to send Irish informers to the colonies, and that the present intention of the Government is to pay Ihe informers certain Bums of money and to protect them only so long as they remain m Ireland. A potition from Sandhurst to tho 'Legislative Assembly, states that the stocks of Sandhurst marktt decreased m value eighty thousand pounds on tbe day judgment was pronounced m Cushing v. Lady Barkley Company. A disgraceful disturbance m which a member of Parliament, a Justice of the Peace, and a Licensing Magistrate took a prominent part occurred m Bourke street at a late hour on the sth instant, arising out of tbe M.L.A. lighting his cigar m a ladies' dining-room. On Saturday afternoon, a man, nime unknown, rushed on the railway line juit as tbe Sydney down train was leaving Narranderi, and wa» knocked down and killed. The Redmond Brothers have been the cause of a split between Father McKenna and the Raman Catholics of Fitzroy. Mr Redmond applied for the uss of the schoolroom for his meeting, which Mr McKenna refused, whereupon t he ladies of the congregation, who wero making an effort to get up a bazaar ia aid of the church, handed m their subscription lists and refused to aatist further m the matter. The rev. gentleman was still further surprised to find that a number of Catholic residents refused to subscribe to the church extension, the result being that he has reconsidered the matter and now sgreea to preside over the meeting shortly to be held. Several waterspouts have been visible from Port Adelaide, but no damage has been done. Stdkbt, July 9. A man named William Hunter, a religious monomaniac, charged with shooting Robert Grant m tbe leg with a revolver, has been committed for trial.
