Mehjohbhb Exhibition Awabd.—We woro recently shown the silver medal which represented one of the throe first awardt giron by the Melbourne International Exhibition for alo m bulk to Mr Francis Franks, of the Eclipse Brewery, Temuta. When we mention tfiat there wore 94 competitors m this class, it ia no small honor that has been obtained by thoao who gained the three medals, nil of which hare come to Now Zealand, against the world, namely, Messrs Ward nnd Co., Christchurch j Messrs Speight and Co., Dunedin t and Mr F. Franks, of Temuka. Australia nnd Tasmania had 37 exhibits, New Zealand 26, and England and Hcotland 14. The judgeß, whom we believe, ■wore all foreigners, and were presided over by tho Australian Government analytical chemist, must have had a difficult tusk to decide upon tho relative merits of 160 hogsheads of ale. Tho threo months' summer heat of the Melbourne climate must have tried the best of brows. It sposks well for tie suitability of tho water at letnuka for.browing purposes, and for the skill of the brewer.
