[Received at 2.65 a.m.] ENGLISH CABLE. London, Oct. 22. The Homeward Australian and New Zealand mails, which left Auckland on September 13th, via San Francisco, were delivered here to-day. Notts is to hand to-day from Ireland that m consequence of the Viceroy's recent proclamation declaring the Land League to be an illegal association, the offices of the organisation m Dublin have been closed, and that at the same time a manifesto has been issued by the League leaders abjuring adherents to maintain a firm attitude, and at the same time to continue a passive resistance to the measures of the Government. The manifesto further announces that all public meetings under the League's auspices will be temporarily abandoned.
