Tho Lusitania takes 10,000 pouud* of frozen beef, mutlon, etc., for usoou the ship's homeward passage. The report of tho Australian Mutual Provident Society is very favorable. The policies issued exceed those of any previous year. The accumulated funds are £3,379,003. The Board have concluded their enquiry re De Kay's immigrants. Decision is deferred till Sir H. Tl>e actual revenue returns for the March quarter show the income to be £518,000, being an increnso of £34000, and the expenditure £470,000, or an iucroaße of £15,000. The revenue for the year wa5 £2,062,000, being an increase, of £382,000, and the expenditure £1 938,000, or an increase of £90,000. The land eales for March produced £71,000. Tho Earl and Countess of Ellesmere, now on a vitit here, are entertained by tho Governor. Brisdanb. The new census shows a largo diminution m the Chinese population of Queensland. The vital statistics to 31»t December show the population of Queensland to be 226;000. The arrivals last year were 13,000 and the departures 10,000.
