Mr Whitakor's General Harbors Act Amcndmont Bill was rend a first time The Awntcre Shearing Kescrvo Bill was rend a second time. : The Hawko's Bay and Marlborough Eivor Districts Bill, and tho Kutnnro Education: Bosorre Bill wero read a third time; Tho Council then went into Committee on various littlo Bills. ■ ■ THR XIRBOSS CABB. The Na'ivo Affairs Coramiltco reported on a petition re the Kinross crop, thst tho'Council'ought to dllow its officers to; appear as witnesses m any future trial, or iteolf institute proceeding! ngaitut Mr Kinross. Tho report was objected to by somo honorable monibcrs, who asserted it condomned Mr Kinross unheard. A discussion took placo which lasted ovor an hour, and m which twclro members took part. After thr's tho dobnto was adjourned on t% division, by 22 voteß to 10, and the Council rose at a quarter to lire p.m.
