Sir George Grey' complained of the unfairness of such a motion hoing tabled, tho mover not presenting himrolf to support it. Kawau, he maintained, was properly exempted from tho County system. He had been instnmental m defeating an attempt on tho part of Messrs McLran and Whitoker to securo largo tracts of natiro lands on unfair terms, and ovor since this thry bad pursued him with nnrolaxtng hostility. Somo days ago Mr McLean spoko of scandals being diselosod Bgaihßt the late Government, but no such revelations had boon mado.
