The attendance was good and buyers \ lentif ul at the following rates : — Potatoes, 90s per ton ; onions, 18s 8d per cwfc ; hams, 9d per lb ; bacon, 7d ; fresh pork, 4d to 6d per lb ; lard, 4Jd per lb ; apples, 9s per case ; pears, lls per case ; cheese, 7d per lb ; ducks, 4s to ss| per pair ; fowls, 2s 6d to 4s per pair; geese and turkeys, none m the market ; American salmon, lib tins, 6s to 7s per doz ; white sugar £37 10s per ton; brown sugar, £35 8s 4d ; tea, jams, blacking, American cod fish, furniture, and effects found purchasers at satisfactory figures.
