The barque Chile is now taking m the first portion of her Home cargo from tho Government Landing Service. The barqucntino Annie Bow, which was reported as having loft Newcastle on May 23rd is making an exceptionally long passage for her, being now 22 days out, that is presuming she left on the date mentioned. If, however, sho has encountered tho samo sort of weather as tho East Lothian, which arrived at Port Chalmers on Thursday, it may explain matters. The following is the report of the East Lothian's passage, taken from the Herald: — The collior barque East Lothian, Captain Moir, caino m astern of the Koputai last night, anchoring off tho Port at 7.30 o'clock, hho loft Newcastle on May 13th with light easterly winds, which continued until the lGth, when a heavy gale from S.E. set m and caused her to bo hove to until the 10th, tho vessel the while shipping much water. The wind then hauled to S.W. and for the rest of the passage she had light winds and variables, until making the Solandcrs on May 31st. An easterly gale then set m, and she knocked about the entrance to Foveaux Straits for three days, and then got a slant and ran into Port William on June 3rd. Lay there for six days, tho wind all the time being fresh, from tho eastward ; and on the 9th she got under weigh, and came up the coast with light east airs and a very heavy swell until 6 a.m. yesterday, when blio was overtaken by a light S.W. wind, which brought her up the coast, the tug picking her up off Cape launders at 5.30 p.m.
