LAND TAKEN FOR GOVERNMENT WORKS PURPOSES AT TIMARU. "VTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the _13l Minister for Publio Works, under the provisions of " The Publio Works Act, 1876," and "The Timaru Harbor Endowment Act, 1878," proposes to execute certain public works, to wit, the extension of the railway station at Timaru, m the Colony of New Zealand, and has caused a survey to bemado and plans to be prepared showing generally the nature of the works proposed to be executed, and the lands required to be taken for the same, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands, so far as tho same could be ascertained, and has caused copies of such plans to be deposited m the railway station at Timuru, and are there open for inspection and can be seen at reasonable hours for the period of forty days : And notice is hereby also given that the land so required to be taken as aforesaid is described m the Schedule hereto : Notice is hereby further given that the works proposed to be executed consist of the extension of the railway' station, with all requisite works and appurtenances : And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected shall, and they are hereby required to, set forth m writing any wellgrounded objections to the execution of such works, or to tho taking of such lands, and to sond such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister for Publio Works, Wellington. All that area m the Provincial District of Canterbury, m tho Colony of New Zealand, situated on the beach at Timaru, being part of Reserve No. 384 (m red) being also part of the land vested m the Timaru Harbor Board by " The Timaru Harbor Board Endowment Act, 1578," and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point m the southern boundary of the said vested land, being ninety-five (95) feet from the low-water mark, as described m the Schedule to the said " '1 imaru Harbor Endowment Act, 1878 ;" being also three hundred and forty (340) feet or thereabouts m the line of the said southern boundary from the north-western cornor of Section No. one (1) Rhodes Township, nt the junction of Cain's Terrace and Stratbullan Street ; thenco westerly, following tho said southern boundary to high-water mark, a distance of fifty (50) feet or thereabouts ; thence north-wosterly along high-water mark a distance of one hundred and forty-five (145) feet or thereabouts to the north side of road to goods shed ; thence south-westerly m a curved line along the said road to the southeast corner of Section Number twenty-seven )Z7), m the township before mentioned ; thence northerly, following the foot of the original cliff, and cutting to a point distant two (2) chains north of the engine-house ; thence easterly, following a straight line parallel to the first-deßcribed boundaryof this piece of land, a distance of twelve (12) feet, to a point being one hundred and five (105) feet or thereabout) distant m the same parallel straight line from a point m the eastern boundary of Section No. 110, Rhodes Township, thirteen (13) feet northward from the south-eastern corner of that section ; thence south-easterly m a straight line to the commencing point, m th* manner delineated on the map or plan marked P.W.D. 6916, deposited m the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington.
