Educational. 6OUTH CANTERBURY BOARD OF EDUCATION. ANNUAL ELECTION OF SOHOOL COMMITTEES. THE Board of the Education dietriot of South Canterbury, m pursuance of power m that behalf, conferred by the Education Act, 1877, (section 63) hereby directs that a public meeting of householders m every school district throughout tho Education District of South Canterbury, be held on MONDAY the twenty -seventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, at eight o'clock, m the evening, for the election m each district of seven householders (section 63) to form the Committee for euch district, for the year ending with the fourth Monday m January, m next year. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhouse m each District where schools are built. In the Districts m which Bchools are not yet built, the places of meeting shall (Bubjeot to correction m future advertisement) be as follows : — Waiho Railway Station, Waiho Waituna Creek ... Mr John Bell's house Burkes Pass „. Accommodation house, Burkes Pass Fairlie Creek ... Clyde Hotel, Fairlie Creek North Orari ... Mr D. Taylor's house South Orari ... The Hotel, Orari Upper Otaio ... Jones' house The Board further directs that the firat meeting of each Scheol Committee be held m the place appointed for the election, and immediately afterjthe election upon the same evening. The Board requests the Chairman of each public meeting, to make to the Board, immediately after the election, a return of the names of the seven householders e'eoted to form tho Committees. and recommends that each Chair* man of Committee report his own election as soon as possible.
