[Reuter's Agency.] Sydney, Jan. 9. Another difficulty has arisen owing to three seamen who refused to resume work demanding back pay from the time of the strike. Other uroilar claims were made, supported by the Seamen's Union. The A.S.N. Company's Board consider the demand ridiculous. The International Exhibition buildings were commenced to day. The Southern train ran off the line last night. No serious damage was done. [Special to the "Timaru Herald."] Melbourne, Jan. 9. It is estimated that rust has destroyed a a quarter of the wheat crop m Victoria. Three men like Kelly's gang crossed the border at Albany. Photographic forgeries of Union Bank £1 notes are circulating. Wheat is easy at 4s Bd. Sydney, Jan. 9. The lock-out of Woollongong miners keeps 6000 men idle.
