A GRATEFUL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.
TO TIIK EDITOR OF THE TIMAIUT HERALD. Sik, — I am requested by Captain Kenuey, of tho Into bavquo Molrose, to ask permission to publicly thank, through your journal, the brave persons who on Sunday, at so great a risk of their otvn lives, saved himself and eight of his crew from a watery gr.ive, and ho trujts that the Humane Society's gold medal may be presented to the fearless fellow Gcordy Davy, for if ever a man deserved one he does. From all accounts his bravery was something wonderful to witness. He would also, with your consunt, take this opportunity of sincerely thanking tho people who so willingly assisted m every manner possible to make the sad misfortune fall as lightly as possible on the crew when on shore, and he hopes that, such terrible weather may never troublo Timaru again.
