SPORTING.
THE CANTERBURY COURSING CLUB MEETING[Bt Telegbaph.] Cheistohuboh. July 26. The Canterbury Couraiug Club held their meeting to-day. The weather was fine, but cold, and there was a large attendance. Hares, unfortunately, wore rather scarce. For the Sapling Stakes tbere were twelve entries, and for the Canterbury Cup thirlytwo entries. In the Cup match, the first courses were won by the Christchurch dogs Goll (Soil, Leo, Blue Cap, Gill Gill, Eeuben, Russian Emperor, Master Walter, and Spring ; the Oamaru dogs I<a Rouge, Magic, Mechanic, and Frolic; the Invereargill dog Gazelle 5 the Dunedin dog Cumberland ; and the Tokomairiro dog Verbena.
