WANT OF RAIN.

TO THB EDITOB OF THE TIJTiHTJ HEBAIiD. Sib, — In view of the present ruinous harvest prospects, would it not show a dependence on a Higher Power were our clergymen to offer up special pr.iyers for rain ? I know that m the Church of England service provision is made for such things, and I think that if the Ministers of other denominations have that pura belief which they should have m the efficiency of prayer, they will not assist m the matter. I am only a rough farmer, but I hope nevertheless I am a Christian, and do not lay my hope 3of earthly prosperity to the uncertain returns of luck. I am, &c, Chaw-Bacon.
