RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TIMARU— Monday, Nov. 26. (Before B. Woollcombe, Esq., 8..M.) ILLEGALLY ON PBEJIISKS. Henry Nicholls was charged with being illegally on the premises occupied by Francis Scorings on the night of the 14th November. Mr Hamersley appeared for the plaintiff and Mr White for the accused. Francis Scoringe deposed that the accused cume to his house ou the night of the 14th instant, about 1030 p.m., using threatening language, and telling him not to come thieving about his place any more. James Muskev doposed : I know plaintiff; paw him on the night of the 14th instant. Saw him try to take a post out of the ground m Mr Nicholls' paddock. He then took one which was lying on the ground and weut m the direction of his home with it. I then told Mrs Nicbolls about it. Henry Nicholls deposed : I am the defendant. On receiving the information that Scoringe had taken one of my posts I went over to his pluce and told him that if the like occurred again I should put the police on him. Case dismissed with costs. DBUNK AND DISOBDEH.LY. Jnmes Bruce, brought up on tho above charge, was fined ss.
