[Pbess Agency.] Auckland, Nov. 26. Great excitement was caused by a fire yesterday evening. People rushed out of church, but only to discover a fire m the bush near Mr Buckland'a house, Kyber Pass road. The Tavares' final performance was thinly attended, as the Aucklanders do not appreciate Shakespearian pla}'s. DeLias takes his benefit to-night. Dr Wall is denies having applied the words "rogues and trimmers" to the New Zealand Parliament, and says they wore intended for Legislatures generally. The new abattoir was opened by the Mayor to-day. The slaughter-house i 8 the property of the city, aud the fees go to the Corporation funds. The abattoirs sold at fair prices. Two slaughter-houses not leased were reserved as public abattoirs. The cost of the building was £1365 ; fencing, £297. Further sinnll contributions to the Indian Famine Fund are coming m from tho Maoris and country districts. Wellington, Nov. 26. A detailed list of the subscriptions m aid of the Indian Famine Fund, collected at Wellington and Upper and Lower Hutt, is published this morning, which gives a total of £1777 3s 7d. The captain of the schooner Pelican, from Oamaru, was fined this morning m the R. M. Court, 203 and costs, for overloading his vessel. Mr McKellar, Collector of Customs, did not press for a full penalty, as the offence was the first one of the kind. It is said the authorities were apprised by telegraph of the vessel being overloaded, because immediately upon her arrival the Harbor-master went on board and inspected the vessel, and afterwards testified to her being overloaded. Dunedin, Nov. 26. A tailor named Martin, m a state of drunkenness, laid himself on the Ocean Beach railway line. One of his arms was fearfully hacked and had to be amputated.

A charge of incest with his daughter was brought against David Aitcheson. He haa been remanded till Wednesday. Gkahamstown, Nov. 26. The Indian Famine Relief Fund has reached £241, which amount is to be remitted through, the Government m a few days.
