Timaru Herald Office, Monday Evening. STOCK REPORT. MessM Bullock and Co. report, st the opening of their Horse Bazaar, Burnett-street, Ashburton, on Saturday, 24th inst.,thata very large gathering of farmers and other settlers from the Ashburton and surrounding districts were present — m fuct the largest attendance that they have ever had at a sale there. For good draught stock there was a very keen competition, several buyers not being able to i secure what they wanted, as these brought forward were engorly piokod up by contractors and farmers. Light harness horses and hacks did not sell so readily, m fact scarcely saleable at any price. Considering the long continued dry weather, and the fears entertained that the crops will be short, the demand for all draught stock was more than they had antici- . pated, and prices realised (which are given below) were very satisfactory indeed. Their entries were 68, on account of Messrs Dawson, Gooch, Thow, H. T. Smith, Wilkinson, Richardson, Jones, Fishtr, Einlay, Palon, 1 Ullyatt, Inncs. O'Neil, Risoly Bros., Ward, and others. They sold for Mr Dawson 4 . useful farm horses at £44 10s, £43, £43, and £40 ; for Mr G. Goocb, 2 drought marcs, ' £105 ; for Mr Thow. 5, at £58, £47 10s, £47, ' £46 10s, £46 10s ; for Mr Finlay, 1, at £55 ; for others, nt £34, £28 10s, £38 10?, £31 10s, £47, £48, £37.
