These Steeploohasos will be run under tho New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase Club Rules, copies of which can bo obtained of the Hon. Secretary. Attention is particularly drawn to rules numbered 6, 8, 16, 17, 18, 20, 41, 42, 43, 75, and to rule 81 for definition of Gentleman riders. GEKEBAI< RTJXES. All entrios and acceptances must be made under soaled cover, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, name, age, and description of tho horses, and the colors of the riders. A penalty of £2 will be enforced on any jockey riding m wrong colors. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received afc thiß office up to NOON on WEDNESDAY the Oth February, 1876, for the supply and delivery of 15,000 SLEEPERS for the TimaruWaitaki Railway. 1 They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Publio Works, and marked outside "Tender for Sleepers, Timaru- Waitaki Rail-irar." Specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Christchuroh, Dunedin, Timaru, and Foxton. Tetegraphio tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by NOON of the same date, provided that written tenders m due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer's Office by the same 1 hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank m the town where the tender is lodged; such cheque to be speorally marked by a banker as good' for one month, and to be m favor of- "the Receiver-General's deposit account only," and not to bearer or order.
