ENGLISH MARKETS. Messrs Miles Brothers' and Co, under date, London, Sept. 19, 1872, report as follows: — ' WOOL. The fourth series of colonial wool sales for .the present year commenced on the 12th inst ■ nnd will continue up to the Bth proximo. The arrivals for these sales comprise : — New South Wules and Queensland, 23,109; Victoria, 10,853 ; Tasmania, 925 ; South Auxtrnlia, 2,741 ; Western Australia, 295 ; New; Zealand, 33,506; Cupe ; of Good Hope, 24.300; total, 95,729 bales. Of the above, 5000 bales were forwarded direct to the manufacturing district, and the old stocks amounted to about 25,000 to 30,000 bales. On the opening night, the saleroom was very well attended by both home and foreign buyers, and biddings were spirited, purticuliiriy on French account, and prices for ureuey wool advanced about £d to Id per lb ; while wished Sydney, Port.-Phillip, mid New Zealand fleece wool is a full Id per lb dearer.
