Apart from the special purpose for ■which the statistics have benn collected, the report is very interesting, as showing the immense increase of the trade of the port, it Laving actually doubled itself during the last two years. Accidekt. — An accident occurred yesterday morning to Mrs J. Thomas, who was driving a milk cart up George street to meet her husband, who was serving his customers m that vicinity. From some unknown cause the horse commenced to plunge and kick, and m turning round suddenly, capsized the trap, and threw out Mrs Thomas, her baby, and a little boy. Fortunately help was soon afforded, or the consequences might perhaps have been fatal. As it was, the poor woman received a very nasty cut above tbe ancle, nnd several bruises, and when picked up was insensible. The children escaped unhurr. Mrs Thomas was conveyed to the house of Mr Gardner, where Dr Hammond examined her, and reported that the injuries she had Received were not very serious.
