Exhibitors m private classes will not be called upon to pay entrance fees if the stock shown compcto m any of the adrerlised j classes ; and extra stock or implements, which are not exhibited m any of the advertised 1 classes, will be admitted into the show ground, ] with the consent of the Stewards, by payment of 2s Gd. GENERAL REGULATIONS. ! 1. All implements to be on tho ground by 10 o'clock on Monday, October 21st, on which day the implements will be tried. 2. All cattle, pigs, and poultry to be on the < ground by nine o'clock on the day of show. 3. All merino sheep to be yarded by 6 a.m; long-woolled sheep by 8 am. ori the show ! clay. 1 4. All horses to be on the ground by ten o'clock on tho day of show. 5. All horses must be haltered and led, and oue man must be m attendance with each lot of horned cattle. G. All servants m charge of stock, admitted free, and subject to the order of the Stewards and Secretary. Servants will, however, require to be m possession, of a free ticket, which will bo furnished them on application to the Secretary. 7. Exhibitors will be required to state as accurately as possible, at the time of entx-y, tho date of birth of all stock m classes where the age is specified ; also m sheep, tho date of shearing. 8. Pedigree of all thoroughbred horses must be deposited with the Secretary at the timo of making entry. 9. Exhibitors of poultry will bo required to find their own pens. 10. No stock or implements exhibited to be removed from the yard until four o'clock on the day of show, except with the consent of the Stewards or Secretary. 11. The Stewards will not, under any cir-.' cumstauces, hold themselves responsible for loss, damage, or misdelivery of stock or implements exhibited at the show 12. In tho event of ties for any prize, tho winner of the largest number of first prizes takes precedence. Tho points for prizes will count as follows : — lst prizes, three (3) points; 2nd prizes, two (2) points ; 3rd prizes (represented by a highly commended ticket), one (1) point 13. The winners of cups will not be eutitled to receive the medals representing the points (first aud second prizes) by which the said cups were won l<i. No cups will be given unless there be at least twenty (20) exhibits by not less than three (3) exhibitors 15. No stock will bo allowed to he exhibited m more than ono class except for private prizes 16. All protests must be left with the Secretary before 2 o'clock on the day of the Show 17. All stock, &c, shown must be the bonatf.de property of the exhibitor. N.B. — Winners of medals may, if desirous, receive tho money value of same ly giving notice to tho Secretary on or before Saturday, the 2Gtli day of October. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE JUDGES. In " Merino Sheep," tho Judge 3 are required to take into consideration the following points : — • Fineness, length, closeness, and quality of staple ; also, symmetry aud frame of tho animal. In " Sheep best adapted for grazing on cultivated grass m enclosed land," — They are directed to award the prizes to the sheep they consider best adapted for the purpose, irrespective of breed. If m the opinion of the Judges, sheep have m any way been tampered with m shearing or otherwise, the Judges are directed to pass, over such animals. In " Horses," they are directed to award prizes only to horses which they consider sound, m classes 4, 5, and 6, m tho draught aud 5, 6, 7, and 8, m " Other horses." In the other classes, they are directed to pass over nil animals which, m their opinion have any hereditary unsoundness. In classes 3, 6, and 7, m "Other horses," they are directed to take into consideration principally weight-carrying capability combined with activity. In the event of their being no competition m any class, no prize will bo given unless tho Judges certify to particular merit. And Judges are specially requested to withhold prizes m cases even where there is competition, if the exhibits are of inferior description.
