[Aaaociated Press Messages.] Wellington, November 13. A new set of Volunteer Regulations has been published. Mr George L. Lee has resigned his seat m the Legislative Council. Auckland, November 10, via Wanganui, November 12. Mr Gillies addressed the electors of Auckland City West on Monday evening. It was the largest and most influential ever held m Auckland. A vote of confidence m Mr Gillies was passed. A meeting was held at the Mechanics' Institute on Tuesday, for the Several resolutions were passed, urging the interests of protection, and a Committee was formed to carry out the views of the meeting. The Coromandel goldfields are turning out some wonderfully rich stone. Mr Heller is performing nightly to crowded houses. New Plymouth, Nov. 11, via Wanganui, Nov. 12. Mr J. C. Richmond arrived on Sunday last and is now canvassing for Grey and Bell. Mr Carrington, the Superintendent will oppose him. Mr Sewell is also talked of. Mr Kelly stands for New Plymouth. Mr Carthew and Major Brown oppose each other for Eden. The Superintendent declines to take his seat m the Provincial Council, on the ground that it would be unconstitutional for him so to do. A rifle match took place between eight of the Rifle Association and ten of the Armed Constabulary, m which the latter were victorious by 28 points.
