POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails for Christchurch and intermediate offices close at 6 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Late letters bearing a single rate in addition to the postage can be posted until 10 p. m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mails for the Mackenzie Country will in future close at 8 p.m. every Saturday. Mails for Waimate, Waitaki, Otago, and Southland, clone at 7 a.m., every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Late letters bearing a single rate in addition to the postage can be posted till 7-45 a.m. Letters for Hokitika and Greymouth are now charged under the Inter-provincial rate, viz., 3d per half-ounce. On and after the Ist November the rates of postage chargeable on book packets and pattern parcels |<osted in New Zealand for places within the colony, the Australian colonies, India and China, and the United Kingdom are as follows : — s.
