Sales closed on the 24th of March, but there was no improvement. The decline settled into a general reduction from l£d to 2d jier lb, verging upon prices realised during the most de-* pressed portion of last August sales. Towards the conclusion of the sale, the biddings were somewhat less irregular. The reduced quotations arise from the enormous increase m supply, 130,637 bales were catalogued for next sales, to begin m May. Arrived — From New South Wales 67,898 bales, from Queensland 15,144, from Victoria 52,399, from Tastnauia 590, from South Australia 28,355, from .New Zealand 3753, from Western Australia 804, from Cape of Good Hope 33,747 bales. New Zealand fives, consolidated, 95| ; ditto, sixes, March, 1891, 107.
