Horses. rpO STAND THIS SEASON, At the Levels Station, The imported, pure Clydesdale Horse IVANHOE. Ivanhoe was bred by the Duke of Hamilton. His sire, "Sir Walter Scott," gained the first prize at the Highland Agricultural Society's Show , at Dumfries m 1860, the first prize at Glasgow m 1861, and at Battereea m 1862. His dam, "Maggy," also gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Highland Society's Show, the second prize among the best draught mares m 1862, and the first prize as best brood mare m 1863, with Ivanhoe at foot. Terms — Eight Guineas each mare, groom's fee of five shillings included. Should any mare not prove m foal, one half the covering fee will be returned. Mares sent to the Levels will be placed m well watered paddocks. All Fees to be paid on first service of horse or before removal of mares. No responsibility incurred. Season commences Ist October. rpo STAND THIS SEASON, The Thoroughbred Horse MALTON, (Sire of Belle of the Isle, Magenta, etc.) Will Stand this Season at the Otaio Station, Near Timaru. Malton is a dark chesnut, bred by Sir Tatton Sykes m 1858, by Rifleman, dam by Hampton, grand-dam Centurion's dam by Comus. Rifleman by Touchstone, out of Campfollower, by The Colonel. For further particulars see English Stud Book. Terms — Eight Guineas each mare, to be paid before removal of the mare. Season beginning October Ist. Good paddocks provided, but no responsibility.
