LEVELS ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the above district Road Board was held at the Washdyke Hotel on Monday, the 18th instant, at 5 p.m. Present — P. B. Luxmoore, Esq., Chairman, Messrs T. W. Hall, Acton, Baron, and H. J. LeCren. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from J. Rosten, begging the Board to excuse bim paying his rate, on account of inability to pay through illness, which was acceded to. Proposed by Mr H. J. LeCren, and seconded by Mr Hall— "That the Collector be instructed to take legal proceedings for the rates unpaid, as they become due." Carried. The Chairman was requested to apply for the sum of £1124 4a 9d, the amount due to this
Board, as per Appropriation Ordinance, 1860. (Vide letter received from the Secretary for Public Works, dated 2nd February. 1866).
Cheques on vouchers for the sum of £34 7s 9d were signed.
The meeting then adjourned until the first Monday m July next
