The object of tho promoters of this Company are to meet the requirements of the mci-easiug trade between the various ports North and Sniitli of Dunedin, and to form a regular line of communication between Dunedin, Molym-ux. It is proposed to have two first-class steamers (screw) built, with carrying capacity, one of 1 ;">0 and tho other of 250 tons, and comfortable accommodation for passengers. The smaller one for the Southern trade and the larger one for the Northern trade ; the former to be built m Sydney and the latter on the Clyde. The smaller one could be built and running m about four or five months, and the larger m about eight or ten months. It ia also purposed to take over the river steamer "Tuapeka" at a valuation, to run on the Molyneux m conjunction with tho .Southern steamer. More than three-fourths (3-4ths) of the capital has already been subscribed, and taken up principally by Merchants, and others directly interested m the trade oi the various ports.
