THE NATIVE WAR.
RELIEF OF PIPIRIKI.
DEFEAT OF THE REBELS.
Intelligence was received m Wellington, from Pipirik;, on Saturday morning, that Hori Kingi and a party of friendly natives, together with the Colonial forces under Major Rookes, had arrived, driven off the besieging force, burnt the stockade, and taken provisions and ammunition up to Pipiriki, thus relieving that garrison, which had been m great danger.
Captain Brassey and the natives then pursued the rebels up the river, and, as they were surrounded by friendly natives on all sides, it is almost impossible that they can escape.
