" Herald" Office, Timarn, Friday evening. The weather has been very fine during the week ; but business has been rather quiet. Mer-
chants are very hopeful for the spring, and are making every preparation for new goods by clearing out old stocks. Two vessels with timber have arrived during the week, and have supplied to a small extent a pressing want of the builders. Messrs. Stubbs and King held an auction sale of wall-paper, paints, oils, &c, on Tuesday last ; but the prices lealized were not good. The paper sold at cost price. Messrs. LeCren and Co. report that at their clearing sale, which was again continued on Wednesday last, the goods realised fair prices.
Flour- Wholesale, £20 per ton ; retail £25 per ton. Oats— 3s. to 3s. 6d. per bushel ; more enquiries, and small transactions have taken place. Bran— lo3. to 14s. per sack; sharps, 15s. to 17s. per sauk. Hordes — Good draught are still m full demand, from £40 to £45.
Store cattle, from £10 to £12 ; fat steers, £16 per head, but very scarce ; superior milch cows m full demand at £18.
