MR. GREENSLADE AT OPITONUI.

(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) ' WHANGAPOUA, Nov. 23. , Last night Mr. Greenslade met the eleotors of Opitonui in Loram's Hall, there being a large- attendance. '"Mil." E. Quinn occupied the chair. The candidate met with a splendid recep-, tion, and -his remarks, especially in condemnation of the recent mining legislation, were repeatedly applauded. Mr. Olsen moved, and Mr. J. Toohey seconded, that Mr. Greenslade be accorded a hearty vote of thanks and confidence. Mr.' McKee spoke in sup :! port of the resolution, which was oarried unanimously. The meeting broke up with three ringing cheers, for Mr.. Greenslade, the young colonial.
