Auckland, March 11, ■ Joseph Henry White was charged at the Police Court to-day with attempting to discharge a revolver loaded With destructive materials at John Strathern. When charged with the offence he said, I wanted satisfaction. Mr Strathern refused to give me any relief,, and I might as well behungas die ont the roadside.Oonstable Lanigan said he considered the man war perfectly sane. Accused told the constable he had had a revolver, " sinoe the time of the strike," referring to a maritime strike in Canterbury some years ago. His Worship: How do you know the cartridges are loaded with explosive material. Sergeant Clarke: None of the cartridges have been opened yet. We would need to.open one to prove it. His Worship: I should say.it wa« necessary to prove that point. Constable Lanigan accordingly opened one of the cartridges outside the court, and returning testified that it was loaded throughout. During the proceedings, the prisoner made no remark, aod when asked if he had anything to, say?' in answer to the charge, replied: quickly, "I have nothing to, say,'* He was committed for trial at the* next criminal sessions of the Supreme* Court. ;
