THE TEST MATCH,
Press sßoclatlnii-Electric Telegraph—Copyrijjh
Sydney, March 8.
There was fine weather for the resumption of the match. The additional scores for the rest' of Australia are: — b Jones, 23; Johns (not oul) 24 ; McKibbin, bMcLeod, 1; sundries, 17; total, 527.
It is a coincidence that the Best of Australia occupied exaotly the same time in making the same score as the EJeven put together in their first innings,
Requiring 249 to win the Eleven knocked them up quickly with the loss of only three wickets. Iredale made 14, Darling 104, Hill (not out) 101, Gregory 10, Worrall (hot out) 16.
The South Australian partnership was a solid one, no less than eight bowlers were tried to effect adissolu* tion. Eventually Darling fell to a great catch by Pye on the boundary. The pair Bmote the bowling unmeroi* My. Iredale sent a lightning one intended for the boundary,;but Laver, with his long reach, intercepted it with his left hand at point. This was the most brilliant catch of the matoh.
Beedman took 1 for 25, Laver 1 for 61, McKibbin 1 for 66.
