' DUNEDIN JOCK BY CLUB'S SUMMER MEETING. Dunedin. December 28. The Dunedin Jockey Club held their summer meeting yesterday. The following is the result of the principal event:— Otago Cop, miles. Fulmen (R. Wilson) i Blackandßed(Buddicombe).. 2 Pitch and Toss (Hewitt) ... 3 Brisa (L. King) 0 Plotter (J. McCombie) ... 0 Brisa was the first to show it) front, and Plotter immediately fell back rapidly. Pitch and Toss came along at the bend, and led into the straight, followed by Fulmen, Red and Black, and Brisa, the order being the same when the grandstand was passed. Plotter was hopelessly out of it! Going along the back stretch, Red and Black assumed second place, but was dispossessed of it at the five furlong post by Fulmen, who, with a cut of the whip, soon got on even terras with Pitch and Toss, and let into the straight with the advantage of a full length, which he managed to hold to the finish. The others were all going under the whip, and half-way up the straight Black and Red passed Pitch and Toss, aud secured second place by a length, with Brisa very close up, fourth.
