London, April 20. Spurgeon's London Tabernacle has been destroyed by fire. The flues in a kitchen underneath the Tabernacle set fire to the building while a dinner was being prepared for the Pastors' Conference then sitting. The property is insured for half of its valuo. The communion plate and records were saved. The Rev. Thos. Spurgeon calmly conducted the Conference until a retreat from the Pastors' College was advisable. .
