.'■■''The-' installation of officer? of the above lodge,for. the ensuing year took place last evening' at the Freemason's Hall, Owen street. There was; a very large gathering of the members of the Lodge and visitors, Lodue " Ohiocmnri" No. 107, N.Z.O. being particularly well 'represented. The following • brethren were duly installed by: the Installing Master, Bro. T, Oantley, P.M. : r W,M„ Bro. B. Gillies; D.M., Bro. R. R. Menzies, P,M.;' S.W., Bro. E. Milnrs; J.W., Bro. P. McG'Oior; Treasurer, Bro. G.S. Clark, P.M.; S» cretary, Bro. A. Bruce; S.D., Bro. J. P. "Williams; J.D., Bro. C, J.*El'lraV S'ewards, Bros, Ofcier and Morrison; organist, Bro, N. Pearce; chaplain,Bro. J. West, P.M.; Director of Ceremonies, Bro', H. B. Simmonds; J.G., Bro.W.Lucas; Tyler, Bro, E. W.Lowe. Bro. Cantley, P.M., presented tho retiring W,M. (Bro. Menzies) with a Past Master's jewel, as a mark of the, esteem in which he is held by the brethren. The jewel was inscribed:" Pi C3onted by the members of Lodge Sir Walter Scott, No. 15. N.Z.0,, to Bro, R.B. Menzies, F,M M as a mark of esteem, Thames, N.Z,, December, 15th, 1896." At the conclusion o/ the proceedings, the' Lodge was closea according to ancient custom, and tbe brethren retired to the hall below the Lodie room an J spent a 'con* jivial hoar, the toasts honored be'iau "The Queen and'Uraft," ;,! The R,W. Grand Master,", •' Fister Constitutions,'' " Visiting Brethren," " Lodge Ohinemori,"-" Installing Master," " W,M," "Other Officers," "Absent Frionds," •" Poor and Distressed Mesons," The gathering closed after singing "Auld Lang Syne," and "God Save the Queen." .; ■,- '■ '
