Last quarter. showed a decrease of £122,000 compared witli ; the previous quarter. A NARROW ESCAPE. Mkldourne, April 1. The Lindisford, which left Geelong for London on Tuesday, sprang a leak, and returned in a water-logged condition. The water gained so rapidly that it was found impossible to cope witli it, and the boats were provisioned in case of emergency. Great difficulty was experienced in making port, the ship having a strong list. The damage to the cargo, which is being discharged, is expected to be serious. DISASTROUS FIRE. ' Erisiunu, April'l. Rosenfeld, Davis, Stonevary, and Benjamin, of the firm of Lazarus, Rosenfeld and Benjamin arc committed for trial on a conspiracy to defraud tho Customs by over-valuing goods and obtaining a brawback thereon. °
