Speaking at Healesviile bir J. B. j Patters .n indicated that the Opposition party would bo willing to ad <pt a friendly attitude t ward the Government. The Premier finds that it will not lie necessary to prorogue' Parliament in order to re-sub rait the Income Tax proposals. The Government subsidy \to municipal bodies will probably be reduced by £100,000.

SHOCKING ACCIDENT.
Adelaide, January 14.
A shocking ai'ci.'knt happened in the engine-room of the s'eamer Bulimba during her voyage froro- Melbourne. . A younjr married woman named Evans was. being shown over the machinery in the enginproom when her dress cawiht in the holts of the shaft coupling, and she was instantaneously crushed to death. The evidence at the inquct disclosed the fact that the unfortunate woman persisted in seeing the machinery against the wishes of those in the en ;ine-room.
