• .Auckland November 30. At the Police Court this morning, before' Messrs Rich and Gordon, J.P.'s, a man ; named Alexander McNanffbton -wisr—^

charged with having 011 Sunday, 26th inst., unlawfully assaulted one Arthur Glyn, a member of the Bland Holt Dramatic Co. Mr F. Baume conducted the case for the prosecution, and Mr O'Meagber appeared for the defendant. It was alleged that the accused came out from a group of -young fellows and struck Glyn about the chest and in the face. For the defence Mr <o'Meagher alleged that the plaintiff ■ had first pushed his client. After considering the evidence, which Mr Rich said contained many discrepancies, the Bench fined accused 40s and costs 355, or one month's imprison* nient The accused was allowed a week' in which to pay.'
