Tlia amalgam will probably be retorted this morning. • Alfred.—The leading ntbpe over the eastern drive ie now being carried along, and yesterday when breaking down the lodeieven pounds of picked atone were obtained.
,TRENTON.-Fifty-four pounds of picked alone were yesterday secured .when breaking down the lode in the stopes above No, 3 level. The lode is looking very promising, gold having been left , showing in each stops. Gleaning up and retorting will take pkoe at the battery to-morrow. Mountain Flowek.-Tliq manager reports: The, drive has been ex-ended a farther dis'ance of 48ft.,'. mating a total distance of lJOft since commencing work, There was some, difficulty experienced in spilling through the first 33ff, but it was 1 safely accomplished and everything seenred by Thursday. The drive is now cleaned out, and the road laid to within 10ft of the face: I expect to have it fioished and in readiness (0 commence driving on the reef by Tuesday, afternoon (to-day), as there will be a few feet to drive to getunderlthe ffinjsa before starting to riee. The reef in iho present face is about 9in, wide, the H'.ono being of a very promising nature.
