At a receut meeting of the Paris Academy of Medicine, Dr. Nioaiso read a note-on the necessity for breathing pure airjina bedroom, day and night, which applies more particularly to patients suffering from pulmonavv phthisis or other chronic It was thought that by ine'reaa • ing. the cable space of a closed ; sleepingroom this result would be obtained,' but it has been found that air always remains vitiated. To remedy this evil, Dr. Nicaise recommends permanent ventilation of the room by leaving the window ajar, and by other arrangements which will steure the object. A bedroom, he''says, 'should nover smell stuffy when,■openecL in'i tho morning, as is commonly the case, and if it is cold a firo should be kept up in the room, which would help to ventilate it.
