CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Thames Advertiser. Sib,—As I understand it is a rule in tho Government service that none of their servants 'are allowed to hold private appointments, I would ask the Mining Inspector why lie allows his Under Viewer to hold his situation as mine manager of the Caledonian G.M.C. and bailiff at the United Pumping Association. I know it used to take Mr Ivey, the late 'Viewer, all his time to attend to the duties required of him, and do them satisfactorily; so I fail to see how the public are going to have their work properly done by a gentleman with so many different duties to attend to.-I am, &c., Anti Fbioiion. i
