Auckland, Sunday.

The Maori, Hone Piniha. who was sentenced to six months' ii.'iprisonment.for larceny at Hokiauga, and who subsequently escaped from custody, was Drought down in the ' loua' from Hokianga yesterday. He was sentenced to three months' additional imprisonment for escaping from legal custody. Hono Piniha was recaptured by the natives. A man named Charles Yerth was arrested last night for committing an indecent assault on a Maori woman.

Charles Hayward, upholsterer, who jumped over a wall and foil a distance of 35 feet, is recovering.
