At Gardener's sale of cattle Matilda's, Doublo Brunswick, bought for New Zealand, 100 guineas.
At the Victorian Meeting the Midsummer Handicap, for three year olds, resulted as follows:—Aconite, 1; Drum Major, 2; Savanaka, 3.
Champion Stakes Eaoe,—Yulcan did the running the first time round, then fell back. Calaraia and Roodeejvere well up at the finish. Wellington took the lead from Yuloan, and was never hoadod tho whole way,
The schooner 'Stylda' has arrived with tho barquo 'Seagull' off Wilson's Promontory. The latter was abandoned, and tho crow taken on board by the ' Stylda.'

A disastrous fire occurred at Parkea, eleven buildings being totally demolished, including the Commercial Bank. Loss, £7000.
The new stearaor ' Teranarooma,' just arrived from Glasgow, claims salvage for towing the steamer' Oceau' off a reef. •
The whole of the' Mecca's' cargo was lost.
