(Before J. Keildell, Esq., R.JI.) Goat at Lame — John Ellis, was charged with allowing a goat to wander in WillougUby-atreet.—He admitted that the goat was at large, but said that some one had let it loose from where he had tied it up.—He was fined Is and costs. Insulting Language.— Bridget Donnelly, was. charged with having unlawfully nsed insulting and abusive language towards-Mary Barber, for the purposo of annoyance and provocation.—Mr Miller for plaintiff, and Mr Campbell for tho de<. fendant.—Plaintiffdeposed thaton {he 14th iust,, she askod her to pay her some money which she owed, when the dofoudanfc mado use of tho insulting language complained of, aud swore she'd tear witness to pieces. Plaintiff replied, that she would put her where the German woman put her before, on a previous occasion, whoa she asked the accused for the money; sho abused her, aud ou auothor occasion, she had to run away from her, aud sho was afraid such conduct might bo repeated Ellen Baxter deposed to having heard Mrs Donnolly make use of very bad lan guage to Mrs Barber. It was too bad to name.-For tho defence, James Pocock deposed: He saw Mrs Barber follow Mrs Donnelly, and say, may my curso rest on you and follow you to tho grave Mrs Donnelly mado somo reply bnt wliat.it was he did not know. This was tho first he had seen or heard of thorn on that oc« cassion,—Thomas Hutchinson was also oxauiined, after which the defendant was examined, Sho said Mrs' Barber followed her through tho street, cursing her aud abusing hor. Defendant did not uso tho language complained of on that or any other occasion.—The Bfciioh did not consider Ihe evidence sufficient to support the plaint, aud the case was dismissed with costs.
