Note,—ln part 17.1 mentioned that Colonel McDonnell, having disposed hi 3 forces around the villiage of Oika, rode forward, accompanied by two troopers. As I wish to give all honour where honour is due, I should mention that one of these troopora was Mr George O'Halloran, of the Thames, who, for his daring on this night, was recommended for, and received his commission as, Sub-Inspector of the A.C, Force.—l.W.G.
