Mrs Hamley, of the Wynyard Hotel, was thrown from her buggy near Mangere -Bridge yesterday, The wheel passed over her head; but she was not ueriously injured. At a drunken row in Shortland-'street last night, .at the house of Mr Welsh, Bast Coast trader, a man named Moore came to see Welsh's wife or woman, known as "Stich," and while. Welsh went to the station-house to get the police to turn him out, Moore attacked Eichard Barrett, ,who lives with Welsh, in a. very brutal manner with an iron bar, completely smashing in his face. Mrs Walsh, who; was very.drunk, was taken into custody, and caused fearful trouble to get her to the lock-up.' Moore was found hidden among lilies under the cliff. The case was brought up this morning, but remanded, Barrett not being ablo to attend. Mrs Wolsh was fined £5 and costs. \':
