There was an objection lodged by tho District Engineer, on tho ground that tho licenso applied for overlapped tho Star of tho South licenso to tho oxtent shown on tho plan, about thrco men's ground. Tho applicants agreed, to strike off this portion from their application, and a licenso for tho remainder was ordered to issue.

D. Gr. Mncdonnell and others applied for a license for tho Paclolus claim, Tairua; area, 3r, nine men's ground. Thero was no objection, and tlio application was granted. Application granted. _ Eaika SVhakarongatai applied for a licenso for the Victoria claim, Tairua; area, 11a 3r 6p, 35 men's ground. It was objected to by the engineer, on the ground that there was an overlap on tho Albion license, and tho case was adjourned until tho 28th instant for tho production of an amended plan.
