The changes likely to result from the present Abolition measures.before the Assembly will undoubtedly give extended powers to our Municipal and lecal Boards; and it behoves us to elect men who are not likely to bo influenced by personal or other motives arising from their connection with interests centred in Auckland, I am in favour of borrowing on the security of the'foreshore for Municipal works, and using all proper efforts for the purpose of connecting the Waikato and other producing districts with the Thames., "...
